Elvis Presley: genre= rockabilly
January 8, 1935 -- August 16, 1977
Elvis Presely's influences were pop and country music during that time. In 1954, he began his singing career with the famous Sun Records Label. That next year, his recording contract was sold to a new label, RCA Victor. In just the first two years, he became very famous. His music brought in a new era of American music and popluar culture. Other than his music, he starred in thirty-three films. His record-breaking, live performances, and his success through television and movies, helped him reach one billion records sold over any other artist that time. "His American sales have earned him gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards for 150 different albums and singles, far more than any other artist." Elvis won many awards, three of which were grammys. He was also awarded One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 by the United States Jaycees. He also, honorably, served his country in the U.S. army. "Known the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977."

Alot of fights happen in the world and even in schools. Fighting is wrong. Most fights that happen at schools are about some ridiculous topic. It's ridiculous how people fight instead of just saying what they feel and resolving things through talking. I also think wars are a waste of time. Some wars are for peace, but that makes no sense because, fighting and killing people is not peace. Fighting just makes the situations worse. Most people think fighting is the answer that it will solve any problems, but, i'm not going to say that they're wrong, i don't decide what's right or what's wrong. Fighting just makes the world less peaceful and gives people the wrong idea about places.
The House Republicans have involved DOPA or the Deleting Online Predators Act to ban myspace and other online chatrooms from local places such as, libraries and schools. Most schools have already blocked myspace and other sites from their school. In a way this law isn't going to make much of a difference. Although, most people use the computers at public libraries to talk online because they don't have computers or internets at home. They should be able to go on myspace and chatrooms at public places but only such as libraries or other places with internet connection.
One of the reasons they are banning these sites is in this following quote, "Social networking sites such as MySpace and chat rooms have allowed sexual predators to sneak into homes and solicit kids," said by a Rep. This is true and it is a very bad thing, but, people who actually know how to block those certain kinds of people and people who are smart enough to block those certain people should not have to be banned.
This rule is partially useless because half of it is already inforced in schools almost everywhere across the country. If you want to find out more about this law and topic, visit this site.
