History on the play, and commentary on the movie!!
One of the oldest broadway plays and they made it into a movie, which is amazing!!
The play was introduced in 1986 by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's based on the story Phantom of the Opera by the French novelist, Gaston Leroux. The musical is focused on a chorus girl, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of what the opera house calls, "The Phantom of the Opera." He helps helped her learn how to sing, he was her teacher, although they hadn't met yet. Throughout the story, the phantom gets love mad because Christine falls in love with her former childhood sweetheart, Raoul. They made a movie for the story in 2004. It was an amazing movie, their voices are great and the effects are so amazing!! The play is very successful and is enjoyed today and always. It's a romance, tradegy, musical, mystery, and some might say horror. It's a great story and great movie. I'm seeing the play in August and i can't wait. So see one of them atleast, or better yet, see both! Enjoy it!
